My adventure with Lily began when I purchased her as a 6-year-old ex-racer that had been off the track for about a year. As you can imagine, having a 6-year-old chestnut mare wasn’t always easy, but Lily was by far my greatest teacher in life: she taught me that patience, bravery, and hard work always pays off, and most importantly, she taught me how to love unconditionally.
During our time together we turned our hands and hooves to have a go at just about everything! We started out with disciplines like showjumping and endurance, but through the beautiful bond we built over the years, we found our shared passion in dressage.
At the end of last year, I tragically and unexpectedly lost my beautiful Lily to colic, and my entire world fell to pieces that day.
I was without doubt the luckiest girl in the world to of had the honour of calling this fantastic horse my teammate and partner in crime, and to have been graced with such a wonderful gift for nearly 15 years.
Aside from competing and spending time with Lily, by other passion in life is to explore and travel the world. It goes without saying that one of the hardest parts of travelling during the time I had Lily, was having to leave her behind, and my friends would often FaceTime me whilst with Lily so that they could show her where I was in the world! This made choosing my selected special keepsakes from Tailend Jewellery easy: a necklace to always keep her close to my heart, her own horsehair shoe to always keep her in my home, and a lucky horseshoe keyring so that I can finally take her with me on all of my travels around the world.
