I first got Dolly in 2007 when I was 13 and she was 8.
She was a very nervous horse but we clicked and from the day I met her I begged my parents as I knew I didn't want to be without her.
Fast forward to this year, after giving me the best time over the years of showing, hunting and jumping, she'd quite happily settled into a more quiet life of hacking and nannying my 2 kids.
She was more than a horse, she was a huge part of my life and in tough times she was the light at the end of the tunnel.
Everyone had something nice to say about Dolly, whether that was from having the opportunity to ride her or just to handle and be around her. She was so kind.
She loved to jump especially xc. The day she left us was so unexpected. A lovely sunny day where I was riding across our local bridle paths jumping some logs and natural fences with a friend and my son. She went down and passed over the rainbow bridge.
I am forever grateful for the time I had with her. She was a horse in a million and irreplaceable. I miss her more that she will ever know but I know she'll want me to remember the good.
Thank you Tail End Jewellery for my beautiful heart pendant with Dolly's hair inside. Its everything I wanted and more and a lovely way to remember my lovely mare. Alisha, May 2021
